In this Fluid Art Class I will teach you an overview of fluid art and the Bloom Swipe technique. Then we will dive straight into the fun part! Playing with paint and watching the magic happen.
I’ll go over the ingredients and how to mix them. I’ll answer all your questions. Addressing things like the importance of consistency and all about layers. Then we dive into swiping and how you can use it as your tool to create an intentional piece of fluid art. By the end of the class you will have 4 beautiful coasters that you can take home. This class is perfect for total beginners and intermediates in fluid art.
What’s included in the Fluid Art Class:
- Paints: I will provide all the pre-mixed ingredients.
- Color Pallet: To keep things simple we will keep to one pre-selected color pallet. Keep an eye out for a survey to choose your favorite
- Substrate: Each participant will get 4x tiles to paint on
- Tools: All required tools will be provided for the duration of the class
What to bring with you:
- Curiosity
- All your fluid art Questions
- Notebook and pen if you would like.
- I encourage you to bring your own palette knives/swiping tools. This way you can get the hang of working with your personal tools. (P.S. My favorite swiping tool is actually a cheese knife I got at GoodWill!)
Why learn from Carolyn:
Carolyn has years of experience creating Fluid Art. She has studied the Blooms technique with the likes of Shelee Carruthers and Jessica Winterstrom, as well as other fluid art techniques from renowned artists like Sara Taylor, Kanella Ciraco and many more. Her obsession with Fluid Art began back in 2020. It continues to grow as she learns more and more from the masters in the field.

Attended a 2hr workshop with Carolyn a few weeks back. I had a great time and came home with some beautiful tiles. Carolyn is a great instructor. She is organized, patient and well prepared. I highly recommend taking one of her classes.
